Walter & Thelma Parker
So I know that this is a huge undertaking, but I am often asked for recipes that I make for my family and where I get them and where I learned to cook so well. I guess that I need to go back to the very beginning where it all started for me and my love of cooking and that is my dear grandmother, Thelma Loandia Miller Parker.
As a child my grandma took care of me, my brothers and sisters and my cousins, so there where always kids running around playing and wonderful smells coming out of my grandmother's kitchen. I remember the freshly baked bread, sweat rolls and scones she would make us weekly. The fresh veggies and fruits that came out of her garden that my grandfather and her so tenderly cared for, and the family cookouts that we would have when she would pull out a bottle of homemade grape juice, and add some 7UP to it to make a refreshing summertime drink.
